I caught pink eye from the receptionist at the office where i work. She was puttering around the office all week with puss and goo dripping from from her right eye. Now, I thought this was absolutley disgusting and totaly inappropriate. When you have a contagious virus, one should stay home. What do you think?
(Now i got over the fist one, and my second eye is infected!!!)

You should have kept your distance if you knew she had something infectious. You should both have washed your hands more often. The receptionist did exactly the right thing to carry on going to work. Pink eye didn't stop her doing her job, so there was no reason at all to make life difficult for her colleagues and waste company money by skiving off work. It's good to know there are still people with a sense of loyalty and responsibility.

She definitely should have stayed home, though I wonder if there was a problem like she was out of sick days or would be in trouble with the boss if she had stayed home. Let her know you got it in both eyes so she knows it's her fault, but please just leave it at that in case there are other circumstances you don't know about and to avoid conflict. I wouldn't want to piss off a receptionist. They can make life miserable for you if they want.

Nope its wrong! when you are contagious keep your butt at home. I hope you are staying home now that you have pink eye.
Talk to your boss, mention that it upsets you that you caught something that was odviously contagious to the person with it, at least you think they know that. You could talk to the receptionist and ask her if she was aware that it was contagious and ask her next time to contain herself!

No , people with infectious diseases should stay home or be sent home. This is why sick leave is important people need the money so they will come to work when they shouldn't.Also some asshole bosses make calling in sick a bigger pain than working when sick.

Ugh. Not okay. Pink eye is really really contagious. I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't the only one who caught it.
She absolutely should have taken a couple of sick days.

No pink Eye is very contagious. I would complain to your boss about the situation. She is very irresponsible!

Somebody at my school had it, and my friend got it. I think that is so not fair. I totally agree with you. Pink eye is pretty bad, I mean ugly bad. tell them not to come to work if they ar contagous

umm...pink eye is contagious...and she should have stayed home...duh?..the supervisor should haave seen that...or you should have told someone...just make sure you stay away from her/him and keep eating healthy and taking the medicine.. and tell her thanks!
