It shouldn't be any problem. I believe most will take cash.
As for the cost, the office call alone is usually between $45 and $200, depending on the doctor. If he's not a specialist of some sort figure on paying $45 to $65 or so just to see him. Then you'll have to pay for any x-rays or tests he chooses to do.
You also don't need to go to the ER. Just look in the phone book under Doctors and you'll find quite a few that should suite your needs.

Yes you can pay cash and they will want it up-front. It will probably cost you $150.00 if you don't have any blood work done. You might consider going to an "Urgent Care" Walk-in Clinic. They are usually less expensive and you don't need an appointment. Also, if you're having a physical for school or employment, you tell them that, and you will get a lower rate (for instance if you need it to be involved in sports). Going to the ER will run up a huge bill. "ER" means just that, emergency! If yo are unemployed, you may be eligible to go to your states local Health Care facility. It would be worth a phone call. yes you can see a doctor at a cost based on your income. I work for the health department with the doctor and nurse practitioner. all our patients are without insurance and we do routine physicals and regular visits too such as colds diabetes checkups as well as blood pressure checkups. most of the time , unless your income is very high , we provide medicines at a low cost . check with your local health department to see what they offer.

Yes, you can see any doctor and pay cash. You don't need insurance for that, it just makes it cheaper.
An office visit will usually run at least $60, possibly more depending on what you need done. Look in your yellow pages for clinics.

In my health plan they accept non-insured patients. They have a sign posted saying that the fee is a payment in advance of $175. That sounds high but I have been in a health plan for so long I have not paid directly for years.
