Of couse, it's a 300 GB 10,000 RPM Maxtor, so i would expect some extra heat. I just wanted to know how much heat I should fel before I should get concerned.

There are software tools out on the web that monitor the hard drives temperature, etc and will alert you if the heat is critical.
The tools that come with the hard drive will only tell you if you drive has failed. Personally, I feel that this tool should be installed on all computers, interegrated into the operating system, but that's just me.

you can run your hd at 30 to 37 c should be ok dont have your home heating system on too high that will make your pc get verry hot
