I have skimpy lashes - so I struggle with this as well. I recently discovered MAC's eyelash plumper (although I'm sure they are all pretty similar). It's kind of weird. It's just like mascara, but it is white and has tiny fibers (last builders they say). I coat my lashes - wiggle at the base - let them dry and then coat with my regular mascara (Lancome - Hypnose).
I was skeptical - but I can really notice a difference. To make sure I wasn't just seeing things. I did one eye and didn't do the other one and asked my girlfriends to pick which eyelashes looked bigger/fuller/plumper. 100% of them picked the one with the lash plumper.
PS: For really dramatic results curl your lashes first with a lash curler. The one that wins all of the awards is the one from Shu Uemura. You can get it at Sephora.

There rare some fab new mascara out there now. However if you do not want to add colour then go for a transparent one. Some people use a mascara brush and pertrolium gel this works but is really stickie it is good for softening the eye lashes

get a good mascara base(they are usually white stuff in a tube and you apply them on before mascara). they help extend your eyelashes and maybe volumnize them. Then apply your normal mascara, but get a really good one. Lancome Hypnose volumnizes your lashes a lot. Perhaps curl your lashes for a nicer effect, use a good eyelash curler that suits the contour of your eyes. Trial and error, good luck!

Mascara is great but if you want TO DIE FOR LASHES you have to get the fake ones. MAC makes an expensive pair but they are so worth it. Everytime i wear them out guys an gals go crazy! it takes some practice but trust me mascara has nothing on them!

every night before you go to bed,rub a bit of olive oil on to your lashes.this helps it to look healthy and can also encourage growth minutely.secondly after your shower, try curling them upwards with a spoon or a lash curler!when they curl upwards they look longer and fab and last but not the least -use good mascara like the maybelline( volume express mascara).if you want to enhance your eyes further more add dark pencil below your eyes. this should do it !

Bigger or longer?? Bigger use thickening mascara longer use individual lashes. Sally's Beauty Supply carries them.

um loreals mascara there is one that is made for that...to make your eyelashes look bigger bolder and darker.
