Looking at a fellow human being, and judging him and his entire race, and considering them inferior to yourself and your race, because of the colour of his skin or the country of his birth.

You know, snobbery and the Class System are kinds of 'racism', except when applied to Jade Goody.

How can you say you are not racist if you don't know what racism is? I would argue there are several types of racism. If you discriminate against someone purely because of their colour or ethnic background then that is racism - even if you discriminate against a white caucasian. If you attack or encourage other people to attack people solely because of their race then that is racism. If you believe, without evidence, that your race is superior to another race then that is racism. But what if there was scientific research done by universally accepted methods of statistical evidence that showed that a specific race generally was 'better' than another at a certain activity? Is holding that belief now 'racist'? Just today we have evidence about students in the UK stating that certain ethnic groups work better and obtain higher grades than others. Is that a racist statement? With regards to your words - a lot would depend of the context and intonation in which they were used. You could say 'He's a Geordie' meaning purely that he comes from Newcastle. Or you could say 'he's a ***** Geordie' implying that Geordies are bad - that is racist. As you cannot write down the intonation of your comments these days it is best to be careful.

Racism is people like Jade Goody whom think that taking the pis* out of someone because they are different to you isnt racism . When the only reason you are taking the pi*s is because they are from a different race or have different skin to you .

Firstly I feel people should quit talking about Jade Goody, her mother, boyfriend etc. They,in my opinion aren't worth it, and its a worrying thing that in todays society Jade is considered a 'celebrity'. It shows in ways how we've lost our direction to think someone like her is Earning large amounts and constantly featured in the media, whilst hard-working ordinary people like nurses doctors care-workers etc are considered run of the mill

As for your question,we all know what racism is,sadly it raises its ugly head far too often..its intolerance and ignorance towards people because they happen to have different pigmentation,ethnicity,sexual-orientation,beliefs to us.Racism is the refuge and defense of the frightened narrow-minded ignorant minority.
Thank God most people know better and we should all try to include people who may be,or feel, excluded for any reason

The discrimination of others based on there race.
Dictionary.com defines it as:

1 - a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that ones own race is superior and has the right to rule others.

2 - a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.

3 - hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.
