Are you still able to be friends with both or do you end up just being friends with one It seems I try to be friends with both but ending up with just one

I don't take sides, I try to be friends with both, if I was friends with both before they broke up then I am usually friends with both after a break up. :)

Two friends of mine are a very happy couple. If they broke up, I'd have a hard time choosing which one. The guy is like a brother to me and I'm secretly in love with his girl who I like very much as a friend. Tough one. At the end of the day, I'd keep them both as friends just see them at different times. I respect the guy to much to take his girl even after they're over. Besides, I'm spoken for and I love my girl to much to leave her.

This has happened to me a few times. You can still be friends with both. The issue is the maturity of the two that broke up. If they can't be civil towards each other, you could get caught in the middle of their bickering.
