Very much so. I actually had the good fortune to have written the cast list (except the regulars of course), of the very last episode of Captain Kremen to be broadcast on Capital Radio. I had sent him a list of over 100 possible names and he used a total of 32 in that last show. I didn't get paid, he just sent me a load of Capital goodies and a copy of the programme. Unfortunately, the recording was stolen in a burglary some years later.
He was definitely up there with The Goons, Hancock, The Navy Lark etc among the greats of radio comedy.

Its a tragic shame that he died so young. I grew up watching the likes of him, Benny Hill, Tommy Cooper etc. Sadly none would have survived in todays entertainment world as they were not politically correct although Kenny Everett was in 'The best possible taste' xxx

I remember watching his tv show when it was aired before he died it was hilarious! I think like most icons of our day though what would it be like if he had carried on would it be the same? As some are gr8 then they grad go crap and boring. My fav comics at the mo are Billy Connolly(huge fan),Victoria Wood,Jeff Green and Paul O'Gradys "Lily Savage". As they use everyday situations and visual comedy in some aspects that we can all relate to and can go of script (don't think some use one) and not bat an eyelid and keep it natural.

Yep !!!!!!!!!!!!
He was amazing funny. Sadly though, I do not think that he would of survived in this politically correct environment.
Remember the sketch were he was talking to Cleo and the camera zoomed up to her cleavage? At the end he said, straight to camera "We've been talking about (Whatever it was) and you've been staring a a fantastic pair of knockers !!!"
Would not go down well now !!!!

He was very funny, but at the end of the day he was a 'Cupid Stunt' and not very careful. Such a shame.

He was only fifty-one. But that is still young. So it's very sad.
