i guess people want another person's take on a situation or answer to a question rather than just relying on information from websites. And sometimes websites are wrong anyway, the information given isn't always accurate, so it may seem better to ask people if they know from experience. It's about sharing knowledge, yes they could sometimes find it on google, but some questions are not answered on websites and only real people can answer them!

Why does it always have to be about google?? Thats why we have yahoo answers... to get real life opinions, not expert opinions by some scientists. Plus if I had to use a search engine, I would use Yahoo, followed by Ask and then maybe Hotmail but never NEVER Google!

I guess they want a person's advice/experience or something. I've googled to give someone an answer because they didn't really have any answers that actually seemed to answer her question personally, i didn't feel to empty =]

All I have to say is if you don't like this site, then go away. This site is for asking questions and getting responses from others so you DON'T have to Google.

It does amaze me that there are "yahoos" who have the internet at their fingertips and they choose "Yahoo! Answers" to get answers to their questions.
Why don't they use a search engine like Google? I could not tell you.
