Get a pacifier that has a cover for it. I boiled mine everyday, especially with it being cold and flu season still. If it drops on the floor, boil it. Do not put it in your mouth to "clean it off". I have seen people do it. Grosses me out.

With our baby we washed it once a day. Dosn't get very dirty at all at this age. we just rotated it out and threw it in the dishwasher. if it falls on the ground then wash it no 5 min rule with the little one. We got luck and she gave it up after 3 months

We've always kept five or six pacis in the house. We'll use one or two in a day and then they just go into the dishwasher basket with our daughter's bottle accessories.
ETA: We do rinse them off regularly. They tend to pick up dust and fuzzbunnies rather easily, so before we give them to her we check to make sure they're clean. If they're not, we rinse them off with just water.

you should probably keep more than one pacifier around. and if you bottle feed, when you boil his bottles to sterilize them, i would put the pacifier in their for a second also. if you have only one pacifier....i would say wash it when ever you drop it, or wash it every night.

Constantly. You should have more than one. I had about a dozen in the beginning.
