I want to learn to play the electric guitar. I need to know what kind I should start with. I dont know anything about coils and humbuckles and whatnot. Please end my frustration.

The most important thing for your first guitar is how the neck feels to you. It has to be comfortable while you're learning chords and lead lines.

You can worry about pickups and stuff later. It isn't going to matter when you're just starting out.

I would recommend an Epiphone SG for a beginner. You can also go cheaper with a used Fender Stratocaster.

If you are looking for that perfect beginners guitar, visit your local music stores. Take someone with you who knows something about guitars. Take some time and play them all. There will be one that will feel perfect, look perfect, and have that perfect sound. That's the one you want to buy.

Go to a guitar store and tell someone who works there that you are wanting to learn to play. They should be able to direct you to a good beginner guitar.

yeah it doesnt really matter, get "decent" beginner guitar until you learn how to play.

then when youre ready to move on, you SHOULD be a bit more educated on guitars in general, and will be able to make a more informed decision when upgrading your gear.

these guy here can give you more info than what you might get here.
