How do you make dry ice (not using labratory chemicals, or talking science, just plain home mad ingrediants to make dry ice)? I need to know bc i have a science project!

Dry ice is just CO2(s), carbon dioxide in the solid form. Basically, you need to collect a bunch of carbon dioxide gas and drop it down to a really low temperature. You're probably better off just buying some.

Dry ice is produced by compressing carbon dioxide gas to a liquid form, removing the heat produced by the compression (see Charles's law), and then letting the liquid carbon dioxide expand quickly. This expansion and the high-speed evaporation of carbon dioxide gas cools the remainder of the liquid down to the melting point, where some of the CO2 freezes into 'snow,' which is then compressed into pellets or blocks. The freezing point of CO2 is -109.3 °F or -78.5 °C.

You have to freeze Carbon dioxide, to do this you need to knwo the temperature this occurs at.

Once you know this, then you need to determine how you are going to cool it to this temperature.

Remember a gas cools the more it expands, so you need to know how much you expand it by to form Carbon Dioxide ice.

Boyles law and equations will give you the information you need

Indeed, Dry Ice (frozen CO2) freezes at -109.3 °F or -78.5 °C., so doing it at home is tough, well at least improbable.

Dry Ice is called 'Dry' because it never melts (never a puddle) it goes directly to a gas. So if you can not do it at least dazzle your teacher.

Dry Ice is frozen carbon dioxide. Most supermarkets sell it.

there is no real way where you can do it yourself, it must be bought. the freezing temp for CO2 is pretty much impossible to meey at home because it is so low

u need to make it...or u just wanna show it theoritically??

theoritically wen high pressure is applied on gaseous carbon di oxide, then it gets converted into solid state..n thats wat called dry ice
