"Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on man."

"The authors of the gospels were unlettered and ignorant men and the teachings of Jesus have come to us mutilated, misstated and unintelligible."

No Candidate should be voted into the White House based solely on his religious affiliation... when we already know that even priests and pastors, like Ted Haggard and so many Catholic priests and pastors, have used faith to cloak their sexual crimes and financial greed. Remember how so many pundits, especially those silly media honkers, in 2000 and 2004 - please God, don't let the same pundits try again to move the Public to elect the wrong candidate again! - had marketed Bush as the 'true' Christian America needs in the White House and this Bush has proven to be a downright disappointment and has taken the world closer to Armaggedon.

The American deserving to be at the White House should be one who can really lead with integrity, wisdom, true intelligence and hardworking, and is able to put America, its People, its Consitution and the American Flag before himself and his family's interests, and is not tempted by campaign money to go along with special interests and reject the American People's voices. For the next year and a half, he/she has to prove to be a good listener to the American Public's problems, not just Bush's problem, his'her religious organization's problems, or his/her Party problems.

Religion creates wars and conflicts... and electing a Candidate solely based on his/her religion will continue to allow wars and conflicts to escalate, not calm the world toward peace.

We Americans must some how get over the religion fact and realize that the president represents all faiths and those with no faith..Ones religion should not play a part in elections...other wise we will continue to see religion taking part in political decisions which it should not.
Obviously we have elected a President who has seperated us from the rest of the world..giving our country a very negative view point among the worlds population....the American president should have an understanding of other cultures and the working of diplomacy.which obviously Bush has neither...

I don't think the President's race or religion should matter. Only that the president be someone honorable and honest (like Americans are) and seek to work with people of all types for the betterment of all places including America (like Americans do).

First let me say I am a christian. That would Not make me vote for someone just because they were one too. Sex, race or religious affiliation should not matter. We need a strong charismatic person that is only concerned with the issues and what is best for this country, personal feelings and gains aside. Someone, instead of thinking of the gains of senators and congressmen will think of what's right for the country and its people.

In my opinion the US needs a more tolerant humane president. One who values the sovereign status of other countries and one who allows other countries to utilise the resources in those countries according to their plans.

America needs a leader & the personal religious preference of that leader is no one's business. That is what America is all about...freedom of choice.

Patrick Henry said: "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ."

James Madison said: "We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves, according to the Ten Commandments of God."

John Jay said: "Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers."

This is America- founded by Christians, people who worshiped God and held the teachings of Jesus Christ above any man.

As long as the candidate isn't an idiot, I don't care what his/her religion is.

This "We need a President of a certain religion" is going to lead us to disaster.
