The angle is "x", so its 90 degree complement would be "90-x".

So, sum of the angle and 5 times its complements equals 298 degrees...so,

x + 5(90-x) = 298

x + 450 - 5x = 298

-4x = -152

x = 38

Yes. Just make 2 simultaneous equations from the information and solve them. If the angle and its complement are x and y then the equations are

x + y = 90
x + 5y = 298

Subtracting gives

-4y = -208
y = 52

x + 52 = 90
x = 38

The measured angle is 38° .
