Why aren't our gas prices at 80 cents?

Basic supply and demand tells us that it would be that way.

The "War about Oil" myth is created by the media which will do anything to make Bush look bad.

I agree if it were about oil, why are we still paying so much for Gas?

Also we get most of our oil from south america.

Because Exxon-Mobil doesn't want you to know the truth.

WE control the ports down there. The military controls the press there as well.

There seems to be no other logical reason for the war.

Saddam was obviously not a threat, a bad man, but no worse then the Saudi's - actually he was better then the Saudi's and Iran, N Korea, Afghanistan (a neglected mess again).

Saudi lets Exxon, et al raid the oil from their country.

Why Iraq vs other more dangerous countries?

The only thing left is oil.

That is the question Bush and his gang will never answer.

Good question! The oil is coming out of Iraq-but it's hard to know where the proceeds are going. The right wing said befor the war that it would be paid for by the oil revenue-yet that isn't happening.

On 22 May 2003, UN Security Council Resolution 1483 granted authority to the Coalition Provisional Authority to use Iraq's oil revenue. The Oil for Food Programme's remaining funds of $10 billion were transferred over a 6 month winding-up period to the Development Fund for Iraq under the Coalition Provisional Authority's control; this represented 14% of the Programme's total income over 5 years.

Where did that go? Where does that revenue go today?

The war was about oil-but the proceeds were never coming back to us...

I would love to have links showing where the oil exports from Iraq and/or revenue goes...

If the Iraq war is/was about oil, why after 6 years has the U.S. still not made a move towards the oil fields except for spending millions to put out the fires Saddam ordered set?

When the oil companies record 5 billion dollar quarterly reports....are you really suprised that the price of gasoline isn't going down!
Just because they have control over a larger volume doesn't mean they have to adjust the barrel price.....just their profit margin.
The men responsible and in the position to profit are working on future gains not just today.
Once Iraq's oil becomes privatized they will all have their hands in it.
But don't ever think it will be reflected majorly in the cost of a gallon of gas. They've got us over $2.00 a gallon and it's never going back under.

The Dictator Dumbya Big Lie Iraqi Crusade is about oil PROFITS and STEALING from the American and Iraqi people. Dumbya SAID it was about oil field hegemony, several times. A google search will get you to a 2005 Boston Globe quote.

When Iraq invaded Kuwait, America went there to "free" them from saddam and his initial quest to take over our allie and it's oil, which in the most part is our's. Since that time our government has hunted one reason after another to stay there. Look back to when it all started and even a no brain moron can see where it started and where it's lead and what it is eventually going to end as. NO WIN AND NO END.

It started out to be about Oil. Now it is just about what can be done to screw up the country even more. This is what happens when the people vote in a President that wasn't doing a good job for a second term. Now, he has nothing to lose, and can do whatever he wants. No one will stop him.

What was it about then? Was Bush and his buddies smoking rope and all of the sudden... "Dudes, after I am not done being so wasted, let's go waste Iraq."

If genocidal tendencies weren't the driving force behind this war, the 'marijuana' reason makes perfect sense.
