Hillary anyone? If not, then who?

I find it ironic that America, a country that people look to as an example of female empowerment has never had a female at their highest office?

A female President in the mold of Margaret Thatcher could probably knock down a few barriers of resistance to the idea.

I think it's simplistic to think that Americans aren't ready for a female President. We are a pretty accomodating and diverse bunch. Give us a good viable candidate with decent character and good leadership qualities.

Sorry, Hillary doesn't cut it.

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) might be a good choice.

It doesn't matter what gender they may be. What matters is how they will run the country. However, the majority of the U.S. is uneducated imbeciles and will not vote for a female or anyone who isn't white. The educated people of this country are the people that don't vote. This is sad to me. Every voter should be educated on the issues and the candidates, no matter what your background. I say we start a new campaign law. You can not see any candidate before the election, nor can you hear about their personal lives or anything else that is not directly related to the office for which they are running. Then, the only thing that could be taken into account would be their ability to perform their job in that office.

We will not be ready until we've ahd a black male president, for one thing.
We will not be ready for anyone other than WASPS for a while, I'd bet. Have we ever had a non-WASP?
Kennedy, you mean the one who was assassinated?
Hmmmm.....
I think we will have a female president when Mother Mary becomes Brigid again, and the world honors its dead goddesses.
We have placed the feminine powers far underground. If our religions do not honor women as equals, and that is what we are dictated by parents, etc., to believe, how will we then elect of our own volition to place a woman in true power?
Sounds far-fetched to some, but think about it- religious and political leadership used to be one and the same.

I do see a female being the President of the United States of America in my lifetime. I just hope that it is not Hillary Clinton.

Ready or not, the choice is between Hillary and Condi, provided the numnutz that run the GOP take a deep breath in between the steak and the lobster Wal Mart's lobbyists are feeding them.

I would take Hilary over any Republican! And it is time! She certainly has the smarts and the education, unlike our current white house dweller!
