Write up a small proposal about her blending into a full time Mgr position only and hiring on another wait staff to fill her wait shoes.

Utilizing her Mgr skills better and solely can increase growth and sales to easily handle the new staff that filled her shows and for a higher salary for herself.

Since she is working as a Mgr / Waitress, Mgr/owners don't see her really as a mgr, but as a top waitress. They won't give more for such a position.

But if she can move into Mgr only and bring in more people, sales, improve the place, etc to justify her move and increase in salary. Then she could actually ask for around $45k a year if not $50k.

What does she make without tips? How much management work is she doing? Is she orderingi inventory, scheduling and hiring employees, handling the banking, etc.?

$14 / hour in tips and wages is fine for a waitress, but a manager doing management work should command a higher salary on their own.

If she's doing full management work, plus some waitressing, I'd say she should be earning around $40k a year plus tips.

Have her compare and contrast similar operations and ask their wages. $14 for someone in food service is darn good, most get minimum wage, or below because the state believes they will be compensated in tips and automaticly assume she's making 15%.

I live in So. Cal and worked in hotels and restruants and the waitstaff made just above minimum...like $8-this is in north LA, swanky places too.

Is she *really* the manager, or does she fill in when the manager is not around-like senior staff or something. I mean, does she make schedules for waitstaff and kitchen help? does she order the food? sign paychecks? hire, fire? If she does not do that, then she's not a manager and her pay is darn good for a waitress in a pub and grub.

I made more than that working at a chain that had low menu prices...I averaged over $200 per night
