That's an interesting idea because of how he was against the Weimar Republic, but I guess it's arguable.
The Nazi party came to being because they thought an authoritarian government would be the only way to drive forward money volatility. Money is only useful if a) there's enough of it and b) it's being used constantly. If money isn't used as much per unit as it is expected, then more has to be printed which drives down the currency's value. This idea proved itself to the German people since households weren't on the fringes of poverty anymore, so they figured Hitler was an alright guy.
And about Weimar - he couldn't stand how banks, factories, brokerages, and other institutions that had money weren't reinvesting it into the economy. Hyperinflation ensued because of the German work ethic of their entire working class in wanting to pay off their reparations. Unfortunately, the firms which would have had to pay the workers to fuel consumption were afraid to lose anymore than they did, so they all piggybacked off of each other by making deed investments rather than stock investments.
Hitler lead the Nazi party and used tactics similar to Saddam. Intimidation, fear, terror, etc. He wasn't someone you'd wanna mess with if you were in Germany which is why so many intellectuals and financiers left the country even if it meant going to Sweden, Poland, Holland, Switzerland, or another country with a bad fortune.
Also, remember all of the film he made showing how he riled up the masses up with fervor making them go berserk? Castro did the same thing and if you were caught NOT supporting him (in either case) you could be jailed and tortured, even killed. Hitler was completely paranoid, but it was all self-induced due to what he wanted to accomplish.
Of course someone must have saw some potential. History does record them as well and some of them were tried in Nuremberg. Really though, Hitler was the cornerstone behind the Nazi leadership and he exercised tremendous grip over the clout he wielded.

There really were not any big businesses in Germany after WWI. That is why he could take over and manipulate the population, because everyone was starving. Foriegn businesses did sell tech and other stuff to Hitler, but nobody foriegn really knew all of what was going on until the end.

Prior to the formation of the Nazi party, Germany was in a state of severe depression, all the industries, and financial institutions, all have fail. Poeple were dying on the streets from hunger. It was far more severe tham the American depression of the 1930's. There was no big business at that time in Germany that had financial influence, to minipulate politics in any form.
There was only one group in Grmany that was prosporing, the Jewish community. Hitler manipulated the financial destitution of Germany, and the abundance of the Jews, to stir up racial trentions and hatred, which he used to gain control the nation.
Hitler played off the fears and anxiety of the Grman people of that time, to unify them under a common cause, with a promise of false salvation. The Nazi regime, over threw the existing government, and set up a new financial system geared around war. The production, and developement of weapons of mass destruction. All the businesses in Germany were under the dominion of the state. What was set up there was a totalitarian state of government, like the former Soviet union. Under this type of system the only businesses that were not shut down were those that backed hitler's idealology, all others were detroyed.
My friend you are seeing history through the eyes the modern amierican culture which is totally different then the state of affairs in Nazi Germany. To view history acurately one must let go of present day concepts, and think in terms of the people of that particuliar time frame.

Hitler simplified topics and used marketing methods: Keep it short and simple. The dumbest person of the audience shall understand the message. Repeat your message as often as necessary. (See how often ads nowadays are repeated). Give easy solutions for complex relations. Well, German people bought the success of Hitlers methods - within 4 years unemployment went down from 6 Million to almost zero (He banned the unions, he opened so called "labor camps" and put German socialists into jail). It probably will not occur in Germany but there are so many states, where it could happen. (See the Stanford Prison Experiment) Last but not least: Genocide is not Hitler's invention, though he was one of the worst misanthropes lived on earth.

Tired old Stalinist myth.
Before 1933 big business didn't support the NSDAP more than it did any other political party, and a good deal less than some. Once he had come to power, big business was as scared of Hitler as anyone else in the third Reich.

You mean like George Bush, Tony Blair and John Howard are all manipulated by Big Business?
I don't think so. Hitler was different to these evil guys of today. Hitler was manipulated by an insatiable desire to be at the top, and after 1936, manipulated by his own megalomania, not by material greed.

You are correct in your assumption that he was manipulated, but then he turned against the manipulators. (and we know who that was). For a very good account read Michael Cruddas's book called Corruption that's if you can find a copy, i am of the belief a certain auction site as banned it's sale through it, Amazon is the best bet.

I think Hilter took full advantage of Germany's industrial families to arm his 1000 year Reich and those families made off with a fair amount of $$$ marks.
