I am looking for an apartment in Lancaster/Manheim, PA - it's not that I have BAD credit, I just have not established credit yet. I have a full time job and make good money. Will I still be able to rent?

Yes, it will just be a little harder. Landlords normally run a credit check on all applicants. If you don't have any credit established, then they will likely look at your job history and see that you've at least been at 1 job for a while, ideally at least a year. The reason why it will be a little harder for you is that a landlord would prefer to rent to someone who already has established a good credit record. Put yourself in their shoes. Would you rather rent to an unknown person, or someone who has a history of making payments on time? The landlord will also look at how much $ you make, and what % of rent you'd be paying.

I would recommend that you get a credit card and use it and pay the balance off each month to start establishing credit.

Yes. As long as you have proof of income (a job) then you will be able to rent. Some apartment complexes may require that you have a cosigner when renting, depending on their rules and regulations on credit. Good Luck

i don't think you'll have a problem. as long as you have a job and can prove income, you'll be fine. besides, many places will insist on first month, last month, and security. so they are covered. just make sure you pay your rent and bills on time and start establishing a good credit history. home bills such as phone, electric, etc. will help in establishing your good credit. don't abuse it!! good credit is critical and you need to start good habits young. good luck!
