Humans DID NOT evolve from chimps!

If they did, there would be no more chimps.

Evolution does not work that way.

We merely share a common thread with them way back in our evolutionary history. Nothing more

We have a common ancestor with chimpanzees, perhaps 10,000,000 years ago - thats not the same as saying we evolved from them. Also - they're a separate species with a different anatomy - in a way the evolution of language is self enforcing as communication became more and more important.

All that matters is that chimpanzees and gorillas are intelligent, conscious and can communicate with sounds and drumming to their own kind and with teaching - communicate with sign language to human beings.

I encourage you to investigate the evolution of hominids. There is much more grandeur in accepting a larger family involving other living beings than believing we came from a handful of dirt - which would, incidentally, have made us Silcon based life forms when we are Carbon based.

First of all, humans didn't evolve from chimpanzees. Both chimps and humans evolved from a common ancestor. We evolved in parallel with chimpanzees. Our minds developed the capacity for more abstract thought and language while the chimp lineage did not. Chimps do communicate with each other, they just didn't develop the intellect for abstract symbolic thought or the vocal structure to communicate at the level that we do.

thats a dumb one!
why cant they talk so we can understand them?
did a chimp ever ask u that?
i always find it weird how dogs and cats and chimps understand our language or behaviour yet we cant tell what a dogs barking about, or a cats meowing or a chimp is howling or whatever about.
and chimps and the modern human bieng only had common ancestors. we did not evolve from the chimpanzee itself

Humans did n't evolve from chimpanzees, both species evolved from a common ancestor.

First, humans didn't evolve from chimps... evolution only asserts a common ancestor between apes and humans, not direct descent.

In answer to your question, humans evolved these two anatomic characteristics that make speech possible (chimps did not): (1) the descent of the larynx relative to the hyoid bone. (2) descent of the hyoid bone relative to skull. These developmental characteristed occured after humans split from the evolutionary tree from apes.

In the absences of these anatomic developmental and evolutionary changes, chimps cannot engage in controlled oral communication.

The process of evolution means an ongoing process leading from one state to the next. Therefore if we evolved from the lesser primates (Chimpanzees) the power of speech had not yet then been developed. However it should be understood that "Chimps" do have vocal communication, but without the speech patterns of man.

because when human and chimps were of the same kind.......... a group of that kind and another group split up..... and then one group decided to climb trees and eat fruits for a living while the other group decides to try a different method like hunting, making a permannent home, making use of objects to assist them in their daily life and also to start having a proper form of communications(e.g. language)! hence we evolve to adapt to the ways we were.(its part of the genes in all animals)

Becuase humans did not evolve from chimpanzees. We evolved from a different species of Primate. Thats like asking, "If penguins are birds, then why can't they fly like Blue Jays?" It's two entirely different species.

humans did not evolve from chimpanzees, but humans and chimps had the same ancestor. chimps are more like our distant cousins than our great grandparents.
and even if we did evolve from chimps, they are a different spieces than we are, so we cant communicate to one like another chimp could.
