I have a Dell V333C tower (circa 1999) with Windows 98 installed. The monitor recently went blank and wouldn't come back on. I tried two other monitors with the same result. What's wrong and how do I fix it?

Obviously you are not getting a video signal out of your computer. Either the computer is no longer booting up or your video card has failed. Many problems can end up with no video including bad memory, processor or motherboard.

Take it as a sign to get rid of the CRT and get an LCD monitor instead.

Seriously though, I think your video card is shot.

checks to see if the video card is in its slot all the way. check your monitor cables for bent pins. check the battery on the mother board if there is one.check any jumpers to see if there missing from the motherboard.if all checks out.it maybe the video card is dead.if you tried 2 other monitors and same thing. that could be what it is.

truly it extremely is CRTs and Plasmas you're able to have burn in on LCDs on no account get it. once you would be leaving it that long i could advise merely putting the workstation to place the visual demonstrate unit into standby like 10 minutes once you end utilising it below power settings because of the fact it extremely is going to save power and your visual demonstrate unit will final longer.
