I need my insurance card and registration. I thought they were in the car. I found my insurance but I can't find my reg. I seem to recall seeing it around the house but I wasn't sure what it was. Now I have to look for it again. I don't know how to handle these things but I'm not dumb. My husband and I are separated and he would've done all this. So now I'm sad and thinking about him. How do separated women deal?

Skiowl-

You're a complete ignoramus! I ASKED him to leave, you jerk, as I imagine your husband will do to you someday soon - if you act this way toward him.

DO what you HAVE to do! Handle it! You can do it! Easy?? NO, it's not easy, but it can be done if you are determined to. I have a friend of mine that has 3 kids, currently separated from her hubby. She works two jobs, has all the responsibility for the 3 kids, and sleeps very little......but you know what??? She DOES IT! You can too!

I'm divorced for 3 years and I have always taken care of ALL the business...even when I was married. My ex didn't do anything. If the car broke down, I took it to have it fixed. I took the trash out for trash day. If the hot water heater went out, I called someone to come fix it. I also remodeled the bathroom BY MYSELF...new pipes and everything. I also had a full time job and made more money than he did. The only thing he did around the house was mow the grass. Period. He was lazy and that's part of the reason I divorced him.

I know you are used to having someone do it for you, but you have to become more independent. You CAN do it. Just make up your mind that you are going to become a capable woman. You will be amazed at how empowering it is. You will feel like you can deal with anything.

If you cannot locate your registration contact the DMV---they have a website----you may need to show the title for the car or they may be cool and just reissue u another although this may take some time. Here is what i would do in the meantime---talk with the insepction people and let them know ur situation-----most times they will be cool about these things. good luck.--this stuff is always such a pain in the butt

I am married and I DO ALL THIS on my own. You just learn to do what needs to be done.

You let your self rely to much on a man... which is fine but, now your stuck.

You gotta learn how to cope, it will make you a stronger, mature person.
In the mean time Why don't you just go to the the DMV web page you will find the information you need to get a copy of your registration.

Its hard but you learn... when my mom left my dad we found ourselves trying to mow the lawn (you should have seen us trying to get that thing started!), fixing a leaking sink (got worse before it got better), and trying to put together furniture with random tools we could find.

My tips to you: get a good guy friend who is handy, buy your own tool box, get a second opinion/quote on anything to do with cars (mechanics try to rip women off) and have faith in yourself. You can make it on your own ; )

I dunno, but you will feel much better after you don't need him for anything :)

What kind of inspection? emissions? Or just repair work? If it was a regular repair shop, I've never heard of something like that. They probably just want something proving the car belongs to you. If it is the same people you dropped it off to..they are being a**holes
