Two different ways: 1. peanut butter, the oil should release the gum. 2. ice, it will freeze and make it solid enough to chip off.

this is a very easy thing to do....im a mother of 4 and gum is my specialty with in carpet, hair, & furniture. now, take a piece of ice & rub it on the gum area till the gum "freezes", then with a dull butter knife , scrape it off. if it doest completely come out take a Q-tip & peanut butter & dab & rub. it takes time & patients. p. butter desolves gum in hair without cutting it.
