Christians were given athourity to judge the earth. But they were told not to judge each other.
"And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha(homosexual cities) in the day of judgment, than for that city" Matthew 10:14
"2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? 4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. 5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?" 1 Corinthians 6:2-5

It's our job to love others. I suppose if someone has no sin themselves then they can cast the first stone. If we're honest with ourselves then we will love, not judge. Sin has it's own consequences.

something else in 1 Corinthinans you may want to look at:
1 Cor 14:34-35 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
Do you make sure that women keep their yaps shut in church? Do you? That's in 1 Corinthians, too. Or, is it just the laws that you think give you the right to hate gay people -- those are the only ones worth following??
Hypocrite. Follow ALL of the bible, or none of it. The day that women everywhere keep their yaps shut in church, only on THAT day will I consider no more sex with another man.
Next!

Interpret the Bible however you want, but if you really want to be serious about your Bible study, you might try reading it in context...
Matthew 10:14
This is not about christians judging people... This is saying, you preach and do your thing, if they don't accept "screw them", I'll judge on judgment day...
1 Corinthians 6:2-5
Have you really read the title? "Lawsuits Among Believers" lawsuits translates to err... lawyers and stuff I guess, not hurling judgment day at your neighbor...
Here's what happens when the Bible gets read out of context:
Ecclesiastes 1:2
Everything is meaningless...
- Time to commit suicide.. Solomon is full of wisdom, so it must be right.
2 Samuel 1:26
...you were very dear to me. Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women. (from David to Jonathan)
--- OMG! He's Gay!!!
You get my drift...

Yes, it is wrong to judge sinners because we are sinners. Yes, we may be transformed in Christ and saved, but we still continue to sin on a daily basis. The only difference is that we have Jesus and the others do not. The only things that are saving us are Christ's love and grace. I think that judging does more harm than good, because it is indirectly displaying arroganec which is one of the things God hates. Also, I have seen Christians, literally screaming at non-believers saying that they were wrong. My boyfriend isn't saved, but I am. His two siblings are Christians also. They will argue with him about Christainity and force him to listen by blasting music and screaming. I do not do this. I let him talk and listen. He gets a better understanding of Jesus that way, for Jesus didn't scream at the tax gatherers and prostitutes, so why should i scream at him? We cannot judge, we can only help. It is up to God to judge, not meager human beings. I hope this helps you. God bless!

Keep it in context, judge not lest ye be judged. Jesus is the judge...we do know what sin is......we can call an apple and apple. But to count someone unwotrth due to sin no one should. We all have sinned. What Christians are charged with is to preach and teach the good news. Its the Holy Spirits job to convict someone of their sins. God will be the final Judge.

If I sin, I pray a brother or sister in Christ will bring it to my attention and they will if they love me. We take that "judge not" out of it's true meaning.
Don't you "judge" your child when they are doing wrong and correct them and teach them? I told the adult bible class I taught for years that if I am in error in what I teach, please let me know (they are, in essence, making a judgment-
We are not to judge unbelievers-they are already under judgment unless they accept salvation inChrist Jesus. We are to judge believers-the bible gave the example of -if a bbeliever in the church is guilty of ongoing sin-go to him, if he doesn't repent, take a brother with you and confront him, if he still doesn't,he is to be cast out of the church...I need to look up that reference for specifics but that is the jest. Sin allowed to go unattended/corrected in the church, it is said, spreads like leaven. IN other words, others see it allowed and some will feel it is ok then.
Another thought-would you not serve on a jury of a christian then? Or on the church board,i.e Swaggert,Jim Baker-etc. and many televangelists caughts using donations for their extravigant lifestyle. If it alloweed ongoing, what messagfe does that said both believers and unbelievers.

actually yes yes it is.....
Romans 2:1 and 2:
2:1On-which-account you are without-defense, oh man, every-person judging, for in that-which you judge the different-person you condemn yourself, for you, the (person) judging, practice the same-things. .2But we knew2 that the judgment of God is according to truth on the (people) practicing the-things-of-this-kind.
pretty much romans chapter 2 talks about how no one on earth has a right to judge anyone else... but they should love everyone as they love themselves and leave the judging to god on judgement day

Of course it's wrong. Listen I'm a Christian & I'm no better than anyone who is a different religion or anyone who likes the same sex. Unlike HawkOhio, I do have a problem with Christians condemning sinners because that's not their job that's Gods job

Okay my dad is a preacher and I'm a lesbian. He doesn't approve of my lifestyle at all. It's not his place to judge me because of who I am. In Matthew it says not to judge. You can't pick certain parts of the Bible to go by. If you do not go by the whole thing then you're just taking what you need to judge others and not yourself. Make sure that you look at your own life before you judge someone else's.
