both are guilty of corruption and deception, yet we remain divided. look for the good in the individual and forget the party politics. there are some good politicians out there, but they have to attach themselves to one of the two parties to suceed in politics.

randal. good points, but still casting blame based on generalizations. repubs raise taxes and cut military too. they promote welfare. my point is both are guilty of not looking out for the common man. something we need to change and won't through blaming the other party and division.

Because this time its the republicans turn to sit on the hot seat Although you would think politicians would learn to stop that stuff. If we voted on issues alone and not anything else than no need to be corrupt or dihonest they would have to do the job we voted on them to do!

Unlike folks like Joe Lieberman who ran as an independent, even though his party didn't want him. Unfortunately we all have our ideals. I believe government shouldn't tell me what to do. I believe they should lower taxes across the board. This includes the rich, or more particularly, the people who own the businesses which employ people like me and you. Of course, even at a lower tax rate the wealthy pay more then anyone else and the more money they make, because everyone has more money to spend, the more people they can hire. The more they pay in taxes, conversely, the more people they lay off and prices and unemployment go up and tax revenue goes down. Thus causing inflation. Same thing when politicians raise minimum wages. Prices go up. Now we'd all like our wages to go up, but nobody likes to pay $3.00 for a regular hamburger. At least I don't when I remember paying less than .50 for one a few years ago.Even within my daughter's lifetime and she's only 22 yrs old. I remember and I'm only not quite 51 when a car cost, and a new one at that, cost a few thousand dollars. Now a car, even a cheap car, cost as much as I'm buying my house for and I hope I'm in my house longer than it would take to pay off a car loan at that price. I woulldn't have the car that long. Well, if you are rich I guess you can afford that, but most people aren't. Who likes to raise taxes. Generally speaking Democrats. Of course, if you like paying half your income to the government that's fine. I don't.

It has to do with money and power. If you could run and win as a true independent you would probably win.
