Three reasons in combination:
1. A public education system that values paperwork and teaching for test scores rather than learning.
2. Media that glorifies violence, crime, drugs and thuggery over all else.
3. Politicians that value kick-backs and wealth over closing our borders to the import of drugs.
4. The feminization of the male role in family and society.
Have a nice day.

A disproportionate number of boys are being diagnosed with learning disabilities because a disproportionate number are being tested with very vague disability tests. More women attend college then men because the men have to work and support them while there attending college. Incarceration rates are high for young males because a minimum of 150 new laws are passed every year in the United States that directly affect the behavior of young males. And men are still as much as leaders today as they was 1,000 years ago. The halls of Congress or the halls of any other governing body are still packed cheek by jowl with testosterone.
Don't give much credit to what you read in publications. Remember that is published in the first place because a publisher somewhere knows that people like to read that kind of stuff, whether it's true of not, and they can make a profit from it. Nothing has to be true to make money.

That's not entirely true, but there is an ongoing process towards a balance of differences. Also, in postindustrial societies women are more apt than men to carry out the kind of work that is required, in flatnot hierarchical organisations, working in teams, attending the public, bieng more sympathetic and responsive instead of aggressive and with initiative, and to follow the patterns of democratic societies where partcipation is the clue. Women who are managers usually match these requirements better than men.
As for in the educative system, women have more capacity to concentrate and work, whereas men, specially adolescents, rapidly loose their interest to learn, and try to be rebels, experience their new found physical strenght, etc.

Culture has changed in most countries. When I was growing up in the 50's (which is considered the best decade) things were different than they are now. Back then, there weren't laws to punish parents for giving them a mild slap on the back end or hands. Now, a lot of kids become inattentive at home and school, resulting in poor grades. Music 40 years back was real music with meaningful lyrics. Today's (noise) with racist lyrics, hate lyrics and a noisy beat contributes to a kid's behavior. Being a free society, America's laws were changed too much that doesn't favor the parents or school teachers, in my opinion.

I think while there's trends that are not conducive to pre-adults, - the biggest change is in the "diagnosis" community.
As pre-adults, girls get pregnant, boys go to jail. Women have been increasing college attendence and getting married later. And with this drugged society, -everything can be diagnosed and be given a pill for.
Men are being socially "confused" as to how and when they should lead. Also, with out a father, - this is what happens to the next generation, - as a percentage wise.

A vast group of women in their zeal to lower themselves to our level (calling it equality) have literally emasculated the male society. Women like Greer and her contemporaries have slowly cut the male domain to a juvenile state of boys. It was a long and slow process and it was intended for a good cause but it backfired because of the zeal and ferocity it was waged.
Recently Greer herself has written a book where she states in so many words....we blew it girls....we pounded on our men so much that we don't have any left!!!....
Feminism has some good points; however it had too many misconceptions and it was trying for equality in all things. That is not possible. Equal pay for equal work is right. But a woman to be a man's equal?? She would have to climb down to our level and that would require that they give up a lot of their genders power. The women have made great strides but most of them are down the wrong road.
We do not have enough men left in this world to teach the boys to be men. As a result people like you are wondering ..."Why are boys and men falling behind in today's society in the U.S.?"

Think about this. At most prominent colleges the football coach makes more than the dean. Athletes are given preferential treatment and most do not receive the education they are given credit for. Colleges are shifting priorities and we as a people are falling further and further behind the rest of the world as a result.

We are different. We must learn only what our personal mind wants. We musn't learn what we don't want. Just like the adults , more then them because those who must learn are children ...
Tolstoy would be destroyed if he would be obliged to do chemistry instead of writing.Michelangello would die of madness if he would be obliged to learn mathematics and draw geometry instead of painting the walls ....Einstein would be sad and suffer of depression if he would be oblige to paint and grow vegetables instead of searching in univers....Shakespeare would refuse to eat if he would be obliged to learn mathematics instead of writing Romeo and Juliet...It is simple...We cannot be all , all of these ....Einstein ,Darwin , Freud ,Marx, Shakespeare, Marco Polo ,Pitagora , and Poe ,Vespuci , and Mendeleeve , and Descartes and ...the Queen. The only discipline that is not an obligation and it doesn't exist is ''how to be a president''.Men know that the inteligence in something more then information, because men have the power ...that is why ...

because of the inequality of man and woman. if both are equal, it wont happen. man has been too long in control that he freaks out. hence woman is slowly and surely playing the game by the rules. so there's nothing wrong. its just correcting the imbalance that has resulted in the chaos of the world. so its prudent that both gender treat each other equally and play their rightful and complementary role rather than compete and destroy oneself. its like a bird - both wings must be strong for the bird to fly. when one is weak - you're grounded. both wings will soar for an ever-advancing civilization...

Because we have a larger female population. I wouldn't worry too much about most of my male friends are pretty intelligent and attending college. Statistics can always be messed with.
