alright you will need set people, actors and actresses, singers, and backups. Send out a flyer explaining what your going to do and have the people pick which parts they would like to have for their first choice, second choice, and third choice. Such as: The choices are : dancing acting set design costumes and singing
Your preference:
1.
2.
3.
4.
Then have the flyers turned into you by a certain date. Take down all the peoples preferences on paper. If any one would like to do set design or costumes for their first choice put them on that job. Then have the dancers actors and singers meet in a room. Explain to them all the roles. Have them audition and decide after everyone has auditioned. is this enough?

If it is to be a school play, the place to start is with the principal and/or head of the performing arts department of the school. They can then explain to you what you can and cannot do, and what they have found to be the most effective approach to take.
