Hi,I live in Italy and have been offered a live in job in a prestigious hotel near London in Hertforshire.I'm a bit indecisious about getting it or not.On the one hand it might be a way to improve my English and also to get a job given that nowadays here in Italy it's a very bad time for employers.on the other hand I feel a bit scared to move abroad alone and to set up a new life even though it won't be for good because I' would plan to come back here soon or late.
what would you do?
Any good advice is highly appreciated.
Cheers mates.

Most regrets we have in life are not about things we did - they're about things we didn't do. Sounds like you have a good exciting opportunity. There will be plenty more reasons to not go later on in your life - the time to go is now. Believe me, when you come back, you'll be amazed at how little everything at home has changed, but you will have experienced a whole new world.

If nothing major is holding you back, then go. In a worst case scenario, if things for some reason turn out really horrible in England, you can always quit and go back home. Good luck.

I know how you feel. I had to do the samething. But it was here in the United States. I had a job offer in another state. It was too good to turn down. Look at the potential of the job in England. The good and the bad. The one thing that I would look at would be if this is going to be my career choice would moving go England help me go further? Are the benifits better? Are they willing to help you relocate? These were the things that I looked at and I was able to answer yes to all. I knew then that this was the choice that was going to better my career.

You will do great if you reloacte. Moving is always a challenge. Finding a new place (they may help with this) and meeting new people. Look at it as a new beginning.

Good luck with you decision.

Yes Brono, you should take the offer! that's good, It will help you
to open your mind in many ways, like about other people, other places, and you will see other things you have never seen in Italy
so you should take the offer! When I was in England, I have associated with people from Meany other country's, in clouding Italians, Africans Packston AL tho I hate the word Packston because there are
no such place! it's INDIA it's the English went there 40 add. 50 YRS. ago & split up the people's country so that's how it is.But
you should take the offer and leave YESTURDAY. you wount regreted it @ all. I am not in the UK. now I am living in another country, so you see I am not a person who lives one place and I
am a Business person I am not a 9 to 5 person so I think I know
what I am speaking about. Take the offer and GO.>>>>>>>>>.

Go and try it out first for sure!

Whether or not you will stay for a while will depend on a lot of things like whether you from a big Italian City or a rural spot in Italy.

Going will help your English for sure. your written English is good / bur-no. I Like Italian (and Sardinian) people!

I meet an Italian girl from Sardegna and I been over there visiting and everyone loved to practice and have their English corrected on and by me, I guess it is so important and jobs seem so hard to get it Italy.

So go for it and see what happens.

Best of luck,
Ciao

Your question is equal to going to school for four years. You will learn a lot, other than what is thought in class. This is an opportunity, never pass an opportunity if possible. YES YES YES, GO for the job.

You have already figured out that your english may be improved. You have no idea what other improvements may come because you take this challenge.

Go For It.

I think that you should go for it - my boyfriend came to Ireland from France, and he didn't have a word of English! He only meant to stay for a few months but he's still here after 5 years and he is so glad he took the plunge as he enjoys his life here. Like you he still wants to return home some day but hes still young and has plenty of time. So try it, and if it doesn't work you don't have to stay - you could get an open ended ticket in case you want to go home.

If you are single. The opportunity maybe great for you. If it's going to pay well enough for you to live decent, go for it. Remember yo can always go home if things don't work out but at least give it 6 months. It may be something there. But remember ther are no guarantees

If you feel this is a good opportunity for you, you should accept the job offer. Don't be afraid of the unknown. I am sure you will adapt to the change just fine. Best of luck to you.

You should do it but first check out the cost of living. I know for example that rent in Rome is expensive but the UK is crazy for rent and food. If you plan just short term of one year or so then its manageable but not so easy to go out on a tight budget.

Good luck whatever you do.
