What happened to Blink182 ?? (and others)?

Question

I know Tom went on to make 'Box Car Racer' (or summin like that).
Im going thru my dusty collection of old cd's, and slapped on
"The Mark,Tom,Travis Show" - I gotta say, those were the days HELL YEAH!!
Mindless rebelion, concerts, house parties, excessive sex!! ha ha

What happened to the iconic bands of the 90's?

yeah right....

if you want to see total excessive qualities look at bands like Motley Crue, or Poison in their time. not even talking about the music, just the behavior. those guys made everyone since look like Amish ppl by comparison. it was nothing for them to be arrested on a regular basis, massive drug habits (as far as shooting up on stage), more women than you can imagine.. read "the dirt", the stories are mind blowing. they rebelled against EVERYTHING, not just that they "didnt fit it" or whatever.

as far as the bands, kids still like them in certain circles. i teach guitar lessons, and i still have to teach those songs sometimes. to be honest with you, it bugs the hell outta me because almost every song uses the same 4 chords, and from a live standpoint, they really werent very good at their instruments other than the drummer, whom my old drummer met, and said he was a jerk to everyone he met.

the bands of the 90's (other than Nirvana, and one or two others) wont ever hit that iconic level that was attained in the decades prior. the majority of them just couldnt play well enough. i'm not saying their music was BAD, i'm just saying it didnt require much to learn to play.

Yeh, the reason was they split up to spend time with their families. But then Tom left and made Angels and Airwaves. Now Mark and Travis have +44.

Tom is currently recording the second angels and airwaves album as we speak.

Blink were meant to be getting back together in Feb 2007...doesn't look likely though.

There was an interview from Mark but it has been removed.

Mark and Travis started a new band called Plus+44. Their new album "When Your Heart Stops Beating" came out in November. Its really good. Check it out :-)

Toms new band Angels and Airwaves are not too bad either. Check out their album "We Dont Need To Whisper" which came out last year.

As for the others.

Eve 6 split up and Max and Tony started the more mature sounding "Sugi Tap" (say: Sue Gee Tap) check out www.myspace.com/sugitap to hear some of their new stuff. Their first EP is apperently out in February.

* SR71 split up as far as I know.
* American Hi-fi still doing their thing,
* Lagwagon and NOFX are still rocking.
* Alien Ant Farm got back together after their bus crash, split again, got back together again and have now rumered to have split again.
* Mest have split up as their singer had serious back problems and was ill for a long time and dident want to continue with the band.
