Seems to me like they are setting up a lot of conflict between his character and the new squad captian, who by the way I don't like at all.

Vincent is taking some time off because of exhaustion and/or illness. I noticed that the show is rapidly going downhill with sorry excuses for writers who are getting slack; along with directors who don't really know what to do with poor scripts.
I like the new captain (Eric Bogosian), as well as Vincent D'Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe, and Chris Noth (good to see a familiar face fill in for Vincent). But Julianne Nicholson is dreadful. Very much miss Jamey Sheridan and Courtney B Vance.
Sad to say, what was once a really captivating programme may not last another season. Vincent and Kathryn held it together. But for how long?

i wish no longer...i like him......he's the prepare ..he and his companion....i do no longer see it as him getting older only greater effective.....i'm ask your self he hasn't gotten a award for his performing......
