will all the pain and heartache be worth it in the end? Does everything we go through in life mean that we will have are reward in the hereafter?

Nobody can tell others what the "meaning of life" is. He can only say what HE thinks it is. Human beings are not just one big ant colony. We are all extremely different, and each remarkable computer that every one of us has in his head has very different stuff programmed into it. Abstract concepts like "the meaning of life" are not hard demonstrable fact, they are personal thoughts, beliefs, interpretations, feelings, and impressions. This means that each individual has his own personal perspective. You cannot tell another person what the "meaning of life" is. You can only say what it is forYOU.

No. I know that I will find that out when I die. That's soon enough for me. I suspect if sudden understanding came upon me and I knew the meaning of life, while I was living, it would ruin the rest of my life, because things would never be the same.
