I am going to start selling on ebay and want to accept paypal. I DO NOT want to sign up for Paypal, due to all the problems associated with them freezing your account, etc. Someone told me that there was an auction program that accepted paypal in their name and then transferred the funds to you. Does anyone know? Thanks

You can use Bidpay or Google checkout as long as you don't advertise the latter on your ebay auction page.

I had my funds frozen by Paypal without any recourse. I wouldn't recommend them. They are not covered by US banking laws.

Working with PayPal is easy when your volumes are small, but the moment it becomes high, they do create hurdles, but if your business is good, it's well worth the troubles. Other Payment processors are not better; in fact, most of them are fly-by-night operators. You could look at alternatives when you grow big.

The way to minimize your risks with PayPal is to keep the minimum funds in your PayPal account and keep transfering the rest to your bank account continuously.

I am a significant user of PayPal ($10,000 to $20,000 per month) for many years, by the way. I'm happy with them despite all my concerns about their ways, as there is no one who's better. They are not cheats or crooks, but just difficult to deal with. So, you won't lose your money.

My 2 cents worth.
