No the babies can not stay with the mom forever. it's to hard on her and she'll keep making milk. To split them you can start once they are 6 weeks and to do so you take them away at nite and put them in a seperate cage. and then u can put them back with their mom during the day so she can feed them adn look after them. By then the mother will have already started weaning them herself but she needs your help. do this for about a week and then stop and just leave them in their seperate cage.

The rabbits start opening their eyes by 10 days and that's when you can start handleing them. but they wil freak out when you first try to touch them becuase their eyes take a while to adjust and learn what everything looks like.
all the babies i have ever raised all start eating food around 3 weeks. don't force them. some will start eating b4 others. but they all learn to keep at some point. and from there on waterever u give them mom they will try.
you may notice the babies sucking on straw or hay even b4 their eyes are open. they do that to suck the nutrients out or they are hoping it's their mother.
i hope this helps you. good luck!

NO!! they can not stay with there mom forever because she could get pregnant or there could be females and males in the litter so each other will get pregnant .they start eating rabbit pellets at 3 weeks and they start to nibble on little treats like carrots. i it's her first litter you can not touch them until about a day or you can wash your hands before touching them. you could start touching them a long time ago. now they will probably not be as friendly who ever you give them to. I breed lion head rabbit and I'm a professional. you can take out the nest box if there jumping in and out of it. when the eat rabbit food they still nurse until 2 months but at the last 2 weeks it's every other day.but they still need pellets and treats.you can try and sex them know. you press down just above and the males have no line to the anus and the females do. it is kinda hard to tell you can go on a site for pictures. Give the mom lots of hay and treats and water and food to keep her milk good.

hoped I've Helped!!!:):D

no you would have to separate them when they get old enough...i think people start selling them at 6 months. sry faulty memory on ages..(ill have to get back to you on the exact age)
i have babies right now and they are about 7-8 weeks...
and that time is when you can really start playing with them. they still have to be with their mother then. but you can take em out, love on em and let em run around for a few hours..then for a while put the babies back for some mommy time. you could make the mommy time in "intervals" during the day and when you sleep they can have some time with her too.
oh btw that is also when they start eating regular food.
i wouldnt advise handling em much b4 then. but you can probly handle them some..just make sure at that age they get alot of time with their mom.

if at least one is a boy..you would definitely have to separate him from the rest of em when the babies no longer need the mother. ive heard of bunnies mating with the mom b4. also boys definitely will want to do it with their sisters..my boy kit is already doing that with one of the girls. just think hes a little baby..imagine how much action he'll want to do when hes older. that is how i found out he is a boy (and that the other two are girls)..only boys do the humping.

why are people always so clueles with baby rabbits. omg. you can hadle the kits as soon as they are born. they start eating rabbit food at around 3 weeks when they leave the nest. they can be separated at 6 weeks. or 8 weeks. www.freewebs.com/creekside_rabbitry has nice breeding info.

No, I wouldn't keep them with their mother. Puts alot of stress on them and their mother. Plus, I don't believe there would be enough room. It is important to start handling them so you can find them good homes.
