This is my line of work---First off--this "sports, cars" thing you are talking about here is called "industrial modeling" (being a rep as it were FOR a product within an industry)---And, the ad thing will usually be ---what is termed in the business --- "print modeling" -- the reason being -- that most of the work HERE is done in front of a camera (still or video) .......

You will find any number of people who will be willing to take your money to "develop" your "career"---they will sell you anything and everything they can get you to buy--- they will sell you extremely expensive classes --- outrageously overpriced photo shoots and they will have you doing any number of FREE jobs "for the much needed experience"----so---all in all---watch who you deal with and KNOW that heavy outlay of cash WILL NOT BUY YOU INTO THIS BUSINESS !!!

You will need a PORTFOLIO -- which simply put-- is a collection of photos that Prove your photogenic ability---- This (at first) does not even have to be a professionally produced thing---just so long as it is done by a certain formula and with a couple of rules in mind--------you should have a basic 12 to 20 ---8x10's that are as different from one another as is humanly possible--- some should be in color and others should be in black and white---they ALL should be of completely different outfits and surroundings--with some in doors and some out--- utilize every possible hairstyle you have in your arsenal---most of these shots should be in full length -- but you will want to have at least one exceptional head and shoulders close up --- called a "headshot" for this book---and it will be mandantory to have at least one shot in a swimsuit (makes no difference here -- one or two piece)

Once you have THIS together--- you are ready to approach the agencies---and-- you must be prepared to deal with some of the RUDEST people on the planet---most people who work AT agencies are carrying a major attitude around with them that they actually are long overdue someone shove down their throats ---BUT , that's another matter -----just be ready for rejection--it is part of THIS thing---but--one thing here--- there are always other agencies AND the right one will "hit" for you -- if you have a real look and presences about you !!!

A really good tip for you here --- when you are AT these events where you are seeing these people do their work----approach them and ASK---what agency they are working with-- most of the models themselves are usually VERY proud of their agency and are more than willing to discuss them at the drop of a hat !!!

Hope this at least gives you something that you can bite off and run with !!! I have been a professional commercial photographer for many many years--- and a certified model consultant since 1991---have done hundreds of fashion layouts---and hundreds of portfolios in my career !

The fact that you don't have a proper picture of yourself on this could signify you are somewhat lacking self confidence. You NEED confidence to go ahead with modeling. If you want to become a model tick off these below:

Are you confident Naked or With clothes on [-] Some models pose half naked which is an amazing turn on for guys.

Do you have a pretty face [-] (NOT AVERAGE!! Im talking HOT)

Do you have medium to long hair which shines and there are no freys [-] (If not then im sure most guys wont like your appearance - MOST ARE SHALLOW)

Do you have a good body [-] (No rolls of fat AT ALL)

Do you have a nice skin [-] (Freckles Etc are all a no no)

Do you have to put make up on to look good [-] (if yes then dont you arent the best)

These are basic SHALLOW questions. Shallow being the key word, skin imperfections, fat, glasses etc are all no no's if you want to get somewhere DECENT as a model. Most guys like Brunettes or Blondes with good bodys.

If you pass with flying colours then you are model material and deserve to be a SUPERmodel.

You need to start by having a professional photographer complete pictures of you to create a portfolio to send out to agencies that represent models. You can try a couple of them in New York or the larger cities in your area in you are in the United States. In Canada, Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto have these companies as well. Once you have an agent then the rest will be up to them to sell your image to whatever companies would like to use it for advertising purposes. Runway modelling has certain
height and weight recommendations. Good luck to you.

Well, maybe you should think about moving to the cities with big modeling industry! And try phone books and ask friends who model where they go.

Hello, I'm Chris.
Be creative and believe in yourself.
Show who you are and how you're beautiful.
Go for it all no matter what it takes and
be careful that you're in the good buisness and that people won't use you.
Do what it takes and go for your dreams.
