Let's just say that I wouldn't type any slower. I don't know how people manage the 10 finger type skills.

You have already had your answer. This is not gangrene. Your boyfriend has a bruise, which turns all shades of blue/black/green as it matures and absorbs. It is just the blood in the bruise being broken down before being removed by the body and everything returns to normal. The reason for my repeating what others have said, is to add this. You say the thumb area is swollen. It may all be the bruise, but if he has pain when he moves his thumb or wrist, then he should go to a doctor or A&E before monday, just to exclude a fracture in this area. If he has no severe pain, and can move his thumb and wrist with only discomfort from the bruising, then ignore this. It is unlikely there is anything to worry about. My guess is that he will be fine after the weekend, and you won't need help at all.

well then..it wouldn't really be the "Middle Finger" cause in order of it to be the Middle Finger there has to be other fingers around it...so it's just a regular finger.
