(Ice) Hockey (invented in my home town of Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada) is the greatest sport EVER; nothing even comes close. Hockey combines the very best atributes of every other sport -- speed, agility, hand-eye coordination, stamina, brute strength, mental alertness -- all at breakneck speeds for long periods of time.
Also, unlike any other team sport, there is no out-of-bounds area to run to in hockey. If a player is coming at you, you either have to quickly move out of his way or be nailed hard into the boards.
And lastly, when another player is acting like a dick or p|sses you off, you take off your helmets, drop your gloves, and beat 10 types of crap out of each other until there is only one man standing (or until the linesmen break you up). There is never, ever a dull moment in a hockey match.
For many of the same reasons, rugby is the second greatest sport. Most other sports are crap.

Cheerleading most definetly is because u r so dedicated to upping someones belief in theirself and their ability to do their sport whatever it may be! Cheerleading is also VERY active because u throw 100 pound girls up in the air and you have over 20 dances to memorize and you also have over 100 cheers and chants to memorize! You have to work out as much as any other sport too because it takes muscle to pick up girls(which is called backspotting and side basing) and for the girls that get picked up(which is what I do which is called flying)! I am in love with cheerleading because it is an amazing sport with an AMAZING purpose!

F1 motor racing. On the TV, it can be a bit boring, but if you go to one of the races, the atmosphere is electric.
Usually before the main event, there are other races (Porsches etc.), and sometimes air displays.
The noise the cars make is incredible, you need earplugs (no joke), plus everyone gets along, no riots like in football.

Surely this is a question for Sporticus? He's not around? Oh well, in that case I would have to say Mountain Biking as it's fast and furious, get's you covered from head to toe in cold wet mud (amoung many other delightful things) and keeps you fit at the same time. It's outdoors, it's free!

Golf.
It provides with an ultimate challenge (to drive a tiny ball into a tiny hole over a very large distance, in almost any weather condition, with a stick). Golf is like life, only fun
It will improve your mental stamina, concentration, develop belief and self esteem, build confidence and the ability to plan ahead.

Soccer. The most played sport in the world. Anyone can play it, almost anywhere all you need is a wall and a ball.
