I checked some magazine sources on this very issue when John Kerry was running. Here is what I remember.

John Kennedy was the wealthiest.

John Kerry would have been #3 on the list had he won.

You had to go down the list to #8 to find a Republican.

The George Bushs', neither one, made the top 10.

I think LBJ was #2 but I'm not sure.

One or two of the top 7 were not Democrats, they were Federalists or some other party. George Washington was in the top 7.

The magazine article said all the net worths were adjusted to 2003 or 2004 dollars. I think it was 2003.

Several places printed lists on the subject. The one I settled on was the one that appeared to have been the most thoroughly researched.

The one point that seemed to be the most universally accepted was that Democrats, not Republicans are the more wealthy politicians and that includes the House and Senate as well.
