Do you know how rude it is to use your phone at a resturant? or to answer the phone while your having a conversation with someone?
And when you go to the movies, SHUT THE PHONE OFF!
And for the Nextel people, there is a privacy button on your phone. The whole world doesnt need to hear your conversation.

There really isn't an established cultural norm on cell phone ettiqutte. I fully agree with the majority of what you said. People also tend to speak more loudly while on cell phones, I could do without that. As far as movies, I know I always forget to turn mine off, and then it reminds me on the screen and I feel sheepish and turn it off. I think the restuarant cell phone ettiquette varies partially with what level of restaurant it is. Cell phones have NO place in a fine dining restaurant. But in a louder family style restaurant, I think it's appropriate as long as you keep the conversation short and speak in a low voice. It would be preferable to leave the restaurant while speaking on the phone (like smoking). I bartended, and it drove me crazy when people would expect me to wait to take their order while they spoke on the phone. Or worse...pointed and made hand signals to indicate what they wanted. I'm not a dog. I'd always just leave until they were done the conversation.

I totally agree. I work in a doctors office people come into the room and are talking on their cell phones while we are trying to tell them something. We just started leaving the room seeing everybody else then going back and seeing if they were done with that precoius conversation.

well, I guess it is a lil rude but for one thing, having ur phone in the movies I dont think is rude because maybe u dont like the movie or something cause last night me and my friends went to the movies and we didn't feel like watchin the movie so we texted and called our boyfriends during the movie and I didn't think it was rude and people didn't say anything. I dont really actually agree with ur theory because wats the point of a CELL phone if u dont use it in public, isnt that the point!?

that's a trouble-free malfunction of cellular telephones, the place the "off" button would not artwork. although, that's easily fastened with a hammer. save one at your verify-out station and do your shoppers this further provider. If it extremely is style of radical for you, that's truly helpful to mimic the counter human beings at some companies I patronize. whilst somebody's too wrapped up of their telephone call to talk to them, the workers human beings say, "i'm going to be happy that can assist you as quickly as you end your telephone communication," and proceed to attend on the subsequent man or woman in line. P.S. you have an stunning record of who's significant. Henry Kissinger, yet no longer invoice or Hillary Clinton? Dick Cheney, yet no longer Joe Biden? Oh, properly.

Because Americans are stupid, rude and arrogant and think everyone else want's to hear what THEY have to say.
When I lived in Europe, I could always tell when some Americans got onto the Metro because the noise level doubled.
