I'm turning 18 in 11 days and it sucks...I wanna be 17 it's a (kind of) great age to be. So what things happened to you that made you realise 'S**t, I'm getting old/older?'

omg you're getting old at 18?? lol. If you're about 10 then 18 sounds old but not when you're still 17. You're gonna laugh at this one day 20 years down the road.

Life does ACTUALLY get better as you get older. Unfortunately, it is not something you can appreciate in advance. The peer group pressure goes, as does the need to "impress with stupidity" so often seen in the young.

I do remember very clearly my moment of enlightenment though. I was in a supermarket, and saw a mum (maybe late 30s), with her daughter (late teens), and didn't know which one was more attractive.

omg, u have nothing to worry about - youre still young. when u get like me, then you know youre in trouble ! I started getting old last week, lines, faint lines have appeared under my eyes, my neck has suddenly become scrawly, lines on the forehead and cheeks and altogether look kinda burnt out, not to mention grey hairs and receding hair line! the ravages of age have caught up with me. i made a mistake thinking, i would be reasonably young looking until i hit 50.! .... no chance..... happy birthday.

At least you look like your age! (I'm 13) The other day I went to a restaurant with my Aunt and Uncle. A lady walked up and looked at us and grabbed some menus. Once we got seated the lady placed the menus in front of us and left to seat other people. I looked down in front of me and there were crayons and a colouring sheet! :( ......I'm 13 and she thought i was 10!

Happy Birthday....no matter what your age chronologically, your real age is based on your attitude. With every decade of your life, you will grow and change and old age will change also.

When I was eighteen, I thought that thirty was ancient, now that I am older; thirty seems young.

When my Dad was 80, he was commenting on some neighbors of his who he referred to as elderly.....so it all depends on where you are on the road of life.

Enjoy every age and every year...it is a wonderful experience.

This is a very good question:)

I KNOW when i'm getting old...

when i get jaded easily in situations i usually would get all giggly/excited/a sudden bloodrush to the head.
(i.e. i dun go 'wild' as much at rock concerts as i used to, sneaking into different movies with friends are not as anticipating anymore..)

You know you're getting old when you carry things like safety pins, plasters and umbrellas ("they might come in useful!")

Also, you know you're getting old when, passing a public loo, you go and use it 'just in case'.

Oh, and another sign is knowing none of the bands or artists in the top 20.....
