I mean those living in the US. And more for the way they do than for the way they might be.

Seriously, those people have had it rough. After World War II where most of their people died in battle or by the hands of their own government, they were faced with forced Communism. They couldn't practice there folk traditions or celebrate their own history. Many were sent to basically concentration camps created to keep society in check by the USSR. Then when the USSR broke up, they had to pick up the pieces of their broken countries and past lives decades lost.
So, I think I would be unpleasant too.

In a recent poll on happiness Eastern European countries came at the end of the list; i.e. the most unhappy nations. Unhappy and depressed people are often unpleasant to be with. So, that perhaps an answer for ya.
Forgot the organisation that does the research, but the results were surprising.

What are you talking about?
They are among the nicest people in the world. Have you been to those countries? I have. And I made a lot of friends in each of those countries.
Maybe you should try to be a bit more understanding. Be yourself, and give it a try. You will not repent of meeting Eastern European people.

Maybe because you show in the Czech Republic and refer to them as "Eastern European", when they are very specific about being in Central Europe.
For the record, I enjoy Eastern Europe much more than Western.
