Unknown subscriber?

Last night my phone came up with 'unknown subscriber'. I'm not sure what this means or why it came up. Its a samsung D600 on Virgin Mobile.
Any ideas?

If this happens soon after you turn your phone on, then it sounds like your SIM id (IMSI) has been deleted from the network - probably by mistake. Contact Virgin mobile.

Sounds like it was a call from abroad,From a network that your phone didn't recognize..
