There is a problem here. If you wear leather shoes and/or eat meat, you are part of the same group as people who wear fur. fur has been worn since prehistoric times. The difference is that these early humans used the animals they killed for all different things. Food, weapons, tools, clothing. Now I think we humans have rationalized our use of animals, making some of it good and some of it evil.
What is the answer? Poeple like me dispise hunters, but don't mind a good steak. We think it is barbaric to stuff the heads of the murdered animals, but love our leather and suede coats and shoes.

Most of the movies made about the Horrible deaths were made some 30-40 years ago when there were less regulations governing the care and killing of farm raised fur-bearers, as well as fur harvesting by trappers. It is a renewable resource just like any other farm and harvest operation. It doesn't cause nearly the pollution that man-made fabrics cause to make or dispose of with the chemicals needed to make and dye artificial fabrics and landfill space.
If someone doesn't like fur then don't wear it, but, why is it always necessary to make everyone else adhere to your beliefs.

You have a point, however if I want to wear fur I will do just that and have. it is tough to see chinchillas raised for coats....on the same hand, I would wonder why the hell people raise dogs. I wouldnt own either as a pet....or a rabbit.....but nmo one tells me what to wear and if i took on every cause that there is, i would be living in a jungle eating nuts. Hence, when I had a fur i wore it. It is not worth it to me for glamour or warmth to own one now. I especially am not into the naturalists whom claim I can't eat anything but lettuce and trail mix.
If I want to wear anything at all I do just that.

Real fur feels great and does keep you warm. And its a renewable resource! Wool is warm too and is renewable but does not feel as good.
Synthetic materials are made mostly from oil, adding to our dependence on a non renewable resource that is sometimes spilled and ruins the environment.
No perfect choices just trade offs.

Not really. My mom doesn't atleast. She owns a minc fur coat, and whenever I tell how horribly the animals were killed to get that fur, she just doesn't seem to care. I've seen videos of them killing them and its the most grotesque thing ever, and people who buy real fur are basically supporting it.

The animals are going to die whether they buy it or not. They keep it you warm. They think it's fashionable. The tendency for larger animals to prey on weaker ones is natural, it's not just humans.
I don't think I would ever wear fur myself, but the people who do have plenty of valid reasons.
