I'm getting one for my bedroom. If you are looking to do tricks, the pole should be bolted into the ceiling. Some companies offer friction mounting as an alternative.

You can easily make one with materials from home depot. Here is a site that will show you how to make one with a stage. http://jaysilver.net/pictures/cosmo/2/st...

The Lil Mynx, is easy to install requires only one screw in the ceiling (most require three, in the floor as well) and the rubber base won't ruin the carpet, or slip on tile. Just fill the hole when you move, with a little Spackle. They start at $229 and comes with a warranty if bought directly from the company.

Platinum Stages, sell poles that are attached to a mini stage. It does not bolt to the ceiling or floor. It's very sturdy.

Stay away from Peekaboo. It is the worst pole, and is marketed for prancing only -- so much as leaning on the pole will cause it to fall.

Search the Internet there are many sites that sale all types of poles e-bay also has great prices on all types of poles.

Just remember, once there up, if you ever take them down you have to fill in the holes on the ceiling and floor. But if it's worth it to you, go for it.

A fireman's pole from the upstairs would be better.

LOL! NOT in your living room because that's generally where you have guests and family over. Maybe install it in your bedroom or your basement, somewhere private.
