I am truly not being stupid here... this is my honest answer!!! Breathing is the last thing you will think about, so don't worry about it!!! The only thing is to try to keep your lips parted when you are hilding your breath to push. Supposedly this helps you not get broken blood vessels in your face. Also - if you are on the fence about the epidural - GET IT!!! It makes childbirth so pleasurable. Instead of horrible pain I was really mentally present during the birth, and I was able to "enjoy" the whole process and focus on the moment instead of the pain.

The breathing techniques they teach in birthing classes made me dizzy. And once the pain hits you'll forget it anyway...LOL...I just took long deep breaths and let it slowly. Breath in through your nose and out your mouth... Just try to concentrate on getting as much oxygen to the baby as you can to help keep the baby's heart rate up and out of stress. That is want got to me through. I hope this helps...Congrats

Trust me, even if you did the class, when the time comes and the pain is extreme you will not remember a thing you learnt in the class. Trust me I have 3 kids and went to the classes for all of them and the rest is history lol lol lol
