First: the problem gives you the value/number for the x-variable.

Sec: replace "2" with the x-variable in the function...

f(x) = - 5x + 5

f(2) = - 5(2) + 5

f(2) = - 10 + 5

f(2) = - 5

substitute x with 2. In other words, change all the x to the number 2.

f(x) = -5x + 5
Substitute x=2,
f(2) = -5(2) + 5
f(2) = -10 + 5
f(2) = -5

Hope this helps to clear your doubts.

hi
you have to just put 2 instead of x
So we have :
f(2)=-5(2)+5
=> f(2)= -10 +5 = -5

Just replace x with 2:
f(2)=-5(2)+5
f(2)=-10+5
f(2)=-5

I hope this helps!

Gal, I would love to help you out but you know, I won't be there on the day of your exam. Just replace x in the function with 2 and do the operations. It is terribly simple and you will have to learn how to do it sooner or later.
