Hi there...as an animal trainer primarily for exotic cats I have trained both my house cats to learn the following using both verbal and visual cues:
- sit
- sit up
- down
- freeze/hold position
- roll over
- wave
- shake
- high five
- twirl/spin
- pat the human head to which means "good human"
- give nose kiss
- give licky kiss
- go to wherever I direct them by pointing
- jump through a hoop
- take apart one layer at a time w/a 3-D layer pyramid puzzle
- jump onto my shoulder from the floor
- jump over hurdles
- walk on leash
- agility trained for cats to perform at agility courses
- both are toilet trained to use the human toilet and flush
...and so much more that I cannot remember ;-)

We didn't mean to do this bit of "training" but somehow we accidentally trained our dog to lick her lips when we ask her if she's hungry. It's rather amusing.
My grandmother's dog was trained to sneeze on command. I have no idea how that came about because I was just a kid at the time.

I"trained" my cat to stay off of the kitchen counters by putting a few strips of double sided tape around the top. He didn't stick to it so it wasn't harmful but he doesn't do it anymore.

I train my cats to obey when ever I put my hand on a water spray bottle. I say No loud, and pick up the bottle and they run away from what ever it was they were about to get into.

My dad's dog(which I helped teach) does a trick called high-5. You do the same sign(she knows voice and sign language) for paw(shake), and then put your hand up. It's SO cute! She also does "bashful", where she covers her eyes with her front paw! ALSO CUTE! And when you ask at the table, "How do you beg?" she lays down and stares at you with puppy-dog eyes. YAY!

No, both my dogs are too dumb... One pees all over the house and the other is only about 7-8 months old.. Maybe I'll teach him something sooner or later but the other one is hopeless...

I have 2 ferrets and they get EVERYWHERE and hide under things and fall asleep in the strangest places so I trained them to come to one of those squeaky toys. Whenever I squeeze it they come running for a treat...soooo cute! Plus it saves me getting off my butt to go look for them!! Hehehehe! xx
