Umm you can maybre get one of them that has those tube top bras. They don't have straps so they are good for dresses. Or you can get the invisible strip ones.

I know that La Senza and Silk and Satin both sell the backless bra. It is basically a full bra in the front that is held on with tape. Lots of tape! I have a large chest, and I found it worked okay for me (not as supportive, but better than nothing).
You can also try bras with invisible straps. Some have invisible straps designed specifically for low cut back dresses. The straps actually around the back at the small of your back. Unless your dress is showing some bum cleavage, those will work as well. I suggest bringing the dress to a lingere shop and asking the sales girls for help. They are always ready to make a commission!!

Take the dress to a specialist underwear shop and invest in a well fitting bra that you can wear underneath it there are bras available to fit even under backless dresses. It won't be a cheap option but a well fitting bra is an excellent investment especially if you have large breasts, it will help you feel more confident and more comfortable.
Enjoy the occasion

Last time I had a situation like that (although definitely without the D cups) I was able to go to Wal-Mart and purchase a bra that just sort of comes around and sticks to your sides under your arms. I can't remember what it's called (sorry!), but it's reusable, and it worked. It came in a box that was hanging next to the regular bra section, so it took a little looking to find it, but that might be worth your time.

If you go to Victoria's Secret's they have a lot of bra's that you can switch the straps on, etc. They're all going to be around $40, i'm the same around 36-c/d since I'm a little lopsided lol. And it's hard trying to wear tank tops or dresses or anything because i'm always having to buy new special bras for them.
But for the specific bra i'm talking about it's called the Very Sexy Infinity Edge Bra's ( Infinity Edge convertible push-up bra ). You can change it to a Halter, Racerback, Backless, or Two-Strap. To get it in your size it'll be $51.50. But it definatly looks worth it. (I saw it originally in my magazine)

Victoria's Secret has some really lovely bras that have invisible straps and various supportive bras designed for formal wear. I am sure there are also other similar stores. Why not check them out?

Some stores have special bras that are strapless, cover your belly and connect on the lower back, so you wont see the bra. Try a boutique near you, or like Kohls or JCPENNYS. Good luck and have a good time!

You can get those sticky cup things (from La Senza or something) that just stick right onto your skin. Go to your bra store and ask a sales clerk about your predicament, they should be able to find the perfect thing for your dess problem.
