Zeppelin 1 is far and away the better record but there was definitely a controversy at the time and Beck was furious that Jimmy Page used You Shook Me on his record since he was already aware Beck was going to use it.
Page even used a slowed down version of the solo from the Yardbirds Shapes Of Things in How Many More Times as a small gesture to his friend.

Beck was replaced in the yardbirds by page who went on to rename the band as led zeppelin, led zep1 is the better album, the other guitarist with jeff beck was ronnie wood who went onto the stones.

who the hell is truth? This must be one of those new kid p u s s y bands huh. Led Zeppelin rules, it has always ruled, and thats it. No band today or ever can top their talent. Not GnR, not nirvana, NOBODY, EVER!!!! End of story!!!!

lol you're kidding, right? Led Zep I was one of the best albums of all time. it was simply amazing. it is good from the line "In the days of my youth.." from "Good Times, Bad Times" to the line "... baby, baby, please come home" from "How Many More Times." it had great guitar, good solos, nice drumming, excellent bass, and i believe this is one of Plant's best albums. oh yea, and did i mention it was amazing?
