i think you'll find it's boys are harder to find for boyfriend 'purposes' maybe you should change your termology a bit. You make us women sound like we are here to be put into categories. So we are either there for the purpose of being a girlfriend or not!

No, but you need to do two things:
1. define "girlfriend purposes" for yourself. This is because girls are multi-functional and you need to have an idea of what you are looking for.
2. look for them in the proper places where they are in stock.
They do not come with instructions, so make sure you can handle them.

In my experience they are as easy to find as ever but finding a decent one is another matter. I am lucky as six months ago I found a really decent one who I am still with, it took a long time.

Because they can see through selfish, shallow and insincere boys and so-called "men." They largely have contempt and decent men are far and few between. That's what's REALLY hard to find.

absolutely, a lot have given up looking for boyfriends and taken to binge drinking instead,trying to prove theyre equal to men.
