You own your home, why wouldn't they be legal. Its your home.

If you are charging them rent then they are not roommates, but borders. If they are contributing to, or sharing in, the upkeep of the house they are roommates. You may have roommates, but your zoning laws probably would prevent you from having borders.

they are legal...so when the time comes and you want them out you have to evict them with a 30 day notice from the court...
