Yes actually a well groomed man coordinates his socks, trousers and shoes. The general rule of thumb is that your socks should match either your shoe colour or your trouser colour.

Also when standing, you should not be able to see your sock colour or the top of the back of your shoes. Socks should actually reach at least mid calf, so when crossing your legs, others should not be able to see the skin on your legs.

I am 53 and my girlfriend has only just succeeded in getting me to wear socks that match each other. She achieved this by folding two socks together in matching pairs so I can't make a mistake.

I think the best remedy is to buy only black socks, problem cured.

Its more about blending than matching, if the colours clash, that can sometimes be groovy i think, like bright pink socks under a smart/casual black outfit, throws people off the first impression, says actually.... ok i know that all sounds majorly bizarre, why do people have to ask questions that make me sound like a nutter, I've even had this sock conversation in real life, when someone says, why are you wearing....... that colour? Help, I will never answer again, my sock secrets are otu there now!

I never wear socks anymore. I just wear ballet flats and Uggs without. When I did wear socks though they were all argyle, polka dot, etc in wonderful embarassing prints and I always matched them to my outfit because I was and still am a tool for matching.

I had an artwork instructor who could experience his socks to his shirts. He'd are available in with lavender shirts, yellow shirts... each and every coloration below the sunlight, and his socks constantly matched. It replaced into the funniest component. ;P yet i think of adult males could placed on dark socks as a common rule. below trousers, you won't be able to circulate incorrect with black socks!
